How to Choose a Specialized Transport Vehicle: Dangerous Goods and Car Carriers in Moldova

The specialized cargo transport category covers two main use cases: the transport of dangerous goods (explosives, ADR materials), regulated by Law 803/2000 on the industrial safety of hazardous industrial facilities and the European ADR Agreement, and specialized vehicle transport via double-deck car-carrier trailers. Choosing correctly depends on the type of cargo transported, the required capacity, and the axle configuration.

1. Dangerous Goods Transport (ADR Class 1 — Explosives)

Trucks intended for transporting explosives and other ADR Class 1 dangerous goods require specific type-approval (EX/II or EX/III codes, as applicable) and comply with the requirements of Law 803/2000 on the safety of hazardous industrial facilities. Available configurations range from light 4×2 trucks with a 1–2 ton capacity to models with a 6–7 ton capacity for larger volumes.

2. Car Carriers — Double-Deck Trailers and Transporters

For transporting several vehicles at once, double-deck trailers offer capacities from 3 to 10 cars, depending on the axle configuration (2–3 rear axles) and the tractor unit used, compatible with most brands available in Tehnoport’s range.

3. Baseline Specifications by Use Case

Vehicle Type Capacity Configuration
Explosives / dangerous goods transport 1–7 tons 4×2, ADR Class 1 type-approval
Car-carrier trailer 3–10 vehicles 2–3 rear axles, double deck
Bulk tanker (cement/grain) up to 30,000 L 8×4, carbon steel construction

Tehnoport’s technical consultants help choose the right configuration based on the type of cargo transported and the planned operating volume.
